As testament to the peaceful coexistence of the many religious faiths of Vijayawada, a Christian church known as the Gundala Church is also nearby. It is a popular tourist attraction with both for religious purposes and its distinctive architectural beauty.
Non-religious attractions include The Praksam Barrage, a major tourist attraction that offers a scenic view of three canals that run through the city giving Vijayawada, a Venetian look. A break from the bustle of the city is available in the form of the Bhavani Island, located on the picturesque Krishna River, giving visitors a beautiful location to enjoy a quiet picnic.
